Light & Color
After almost a decade of working professionally as a lighting artist in the animation and visual effects industry I thought it was time to share what I’ve learned. It all comes down to the basics of color and light and the age old techniques used in picture making since we made our mark on the cave walls.
In this course we will study both master paintings as well as some iconic films. The class with start with the concept of a basic lay-in, then value, and finally color. We will then study the principles of light and color based on both the laws of physics and how those laws are manipulated to serve an aesthetic. Students can work either traditionally or digitally but it is encouraged to work traditionally.

Figure Drawing
This course introduces the fundamentals of figure drawing. Once the student has proven they have a grasp on the three elements of figure drawing ie. gesture, structure, and anatomy/lighting we then start to decipher how the this fascinating and inspiring motif of the figure can compliment the students career and/or art practice.
Anatomy
This course is designed for those who really want to take their knowledge of anatomy to the next level. Whether that be pertaining to sculpture, figure painting or illustration. No matter what your discipline you will leave this course with a working knowledge of not only anatomy but a true understanding of the the figure “in the round” and the kinesiology of the human body.
